Almost complete Ren and Stimpy Stock-Music guide.-- MORE!!

by "gcarras@[EMAIL PROTECTED] " <gcarras@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jan 3, 2006 at 03:51 PM

Here is an UPDATE since Dec.6 (when I got from a friend, Dan MAtheson,)
a personal CD of this stuff!
This also covers GENERAL use of this, not just about R&S..dvivied into
"on REN" and "elsewhere"., It's by NO means exhaustive.:-)

R&S POWDERED TOASTMAN
When "Powdered Toast Man" (8/15/92) opens, we hear Philip Green's 'The
Big City Suite" #1 pt.1(?) (When Powdered Toast Man's at his desk a la
George Reeves as Clark Kent.:on the old 1950s B&W/color Superman TV
show.)(Emi Photoplay Library, aold to the Capitol Produciton Music
Library)

Later, when he's untying the Pope from a bombshell (after PTM's
disposed of the villianous Muddy Mudskipper), we hear George Hormel's
"Light Movement #3-ZR-47".
(The Capitol Production Music Library)

BIG BABY SCAM
The opening is Emil Cadkin/Jack Cookerly/William Loose's "Ozzie and
Harriet Main Title Theme" also heard on GUMBY! (1961's "Northanf
Follies when Gumby and Pokey are dorpped onto tyhe Antartcic)-It's one
of several (OaH and A LOT of these..)(Capitol Produciton Music Series)

Other shows used..
QUICK DRAW McGRAW in general
When Quick Draw McGraw and Baba Looey are walking, one hears one or
more
of several Philip Green's EMI Photoplay cues..
"Skeleton in the Cupboard' (also heard in Warner's "Weasel While U
Work"99/111/58) when our buddy's tying reindeer antlers on "Brer Dawg")
"The Diddlecomb Hunt" (heard in Steve Worth's "Boo-Boio and the Man"
when the rnager is introduced)
"Rural Fox Trot"-Hickville" (used in Gumby in "CHicken Feed"(1962_
"Fred Karno's Army" (heard in Steve Worth's "Boo-Boio and the Man"
when the rnager is introduced)(& as the main "Gopher Brfoke; W(Warner)
music)
The last three are on Rhino's "Hanna-Barbera's Pic-a-Nic Basket of
Classics, Volume 1", which is out of print BUT you can still ger at
Amazaon.com

When Quick draw pullds a boo boo with his gun, he';s accompanid by
"Crazy GOofs' (Jack Shaindlin, courteys of The Langlois Film Music
Library vs a vis "Cinemusic.)

Those toe tpaping chase cues with him and Snahhlepuus in the
sheephearding epsiode, say, are also (according to Ray Pointer)
Shaindlin cues.

Others used were Sam Fox and George S.Chase and pioneer Louie De
Franscesco, and Roger Rgoer

In the accompanying Super Snoop[er, these cues from the 1996 Rhino
package mentioedn, by Phil Green again, "Popcorn aka Comedy
Wa;lker"(think "My Three Sons", "Weasel While you Work", (warner
Bros.Foghroen Leghron) during the open or Spumco's BBatM during the
opening, when Boo Boo talks to himself about (WRONG idea!!!!!)
befriending the bullies), "Dressed to Kill-Comedy Walker #2 (Still
another used ibid.-worked cited, and in "Tweety and SYlvester a Bird in
a Bonnett,'and "Gumby Piegon in the plumtree"), and "Comedy
Circus"(WRONLGY but understandably mis-called "Toboggan Run" though it
DOES acocmpany many a toboggan ride, think Foghorn Leghorn in afore
mentioned..Toboggan Run is a DIFFERENT, ****andlin compsoed Pixie and
Dixie, Yogi and Huck tune), also known as Custardpie Caper..all by
green..one also hears Green's evocative "Parks & Gardens" soemtimes
(like in the one hyena episode)

In Augie Doggie, besides the "Rhino H-B Picinic Basket" selections Busy
Acitvity then "Overture Kiddie Comedy Suite Toyland Parade'", used on a
1956 Gumby, Magic Show, and fianlly "Big CIty Suite' (a different one
than the "PTM" cue same "JohN See;ly/Capital" compsoer, P.Green), and
outside that CD there were by Philip Green still agian Puppetry Comedy
and Bush Baby two of the best (these were used in Warner cartoons too:
the first in "Weasel..Work" when that limp=pciking weasel chops the dog
out, and alter part in Hook,Line and Stinker famous for its use of the
later Loose-Seely-Irv Friendman DENNIS THE MENACE TV show teme song
when the Wile E.Cyote pulls a Western Exterminator (see below for the
previous and some others..in those six WB Seely Six cartoons.) on the
roadrunner (unsuccessfuly, natch), and the latte when "Granny" busy the
so-called tweety chapeua in "A Bird in a Bonnett"! Also Emil Cadkin and
Harry Bluestone, also (thanks to BMI.COM! where a lot of this is coming
now..) I now know were this "Chandler/.Williams" team (*I Guess) that I
saw in the "Cartoon Music 1958" post in the Warner Bros counterpart to
this NG (1998, Piet Schrueders of our favorite retro orch the Beau
Hunks!) (CB in the code-Capital has many----being a DEAD giveaway once
Dan MAtheosn mentioned C&B's cues being coded under CB), scored many
cues..

"Happy Home"
"Playful Kitten" (many playful-related cues..)
"Mr Tippy Toes"
"Hide and Seekl" (abosultely NO relation to the recentr 2005 Dakaota
Fanning/Robert De Niro blockbuster)
"Look Behind You"
"Puzzled Pup" (which as we'll see, was used in one of the WB shorts
with the "musicians strike" cnaned Seely music)

Jack Shaindlin's "Pathos" I think was used in "High and Flighty" (not
to be foncused weith WB'sa cartoon or movie) when Doggie Daddy trudged
bakc to his home, mistakenly thinkoing his boy had flown away in a
flyinn'
aucer (Don't ask) before hapily seein that Augie's back!

THAT one had the sometimes used ":George Chase" take of "HEarts &
Flowers".

(I learned that doing matchup research on BMI.com!)

Jack's music is used, like the others discussed in thiis thread, in
many shows of the time.
(See rec.arts.ajnimation - HUCKLEBERRY HOUDN..my post..for a long
laundry lsit of his tunes)

Doesn';t seem like except ,possibly "Bird in a bonnett"'s open that any
fo ****andlin's much used Langlois cues, so often heard in TV sitocms
and carotons, were ever used by Joh Seely at WB but I've heard
"Puzzled Pup" (Chandler/Williams aka Cadkin/Bluestone UNLESS there WERE
different composer.s.but BMI.com MENTIONS one team then links to the
song credits where the OTHER's mentioned!! The name HArry is ther..)

More on this late.r.
