Special to the Daily
---The most popular animated character, and the ONLY Hanna-Barbera
character, is chosen.
For an art museum retrospective, the curators will Doo a great turn to
animation and give long 5 month reciourse, and possibly college and
high school courses in...
SCOOBY DOO
Surpisingly, it's Scooby-Doo. The 35-year old studio Hanna-Barbera's
very first animated character was named after the refrain in a famous
Frank Sinatra song, called "Strangers in the night", and debuted in
1986. The voice was by Scott Innes. The character is considered the
first landmark animated character----
"Yes",said the anonymous chairperson (a woman) of the committe who has
officially nominmated the dog, "the world's most intelligent character,
and CERTAINLY representative of all that is intelligent and creative,
about animated toons. AND of course artistic."
The chairperson said that because of Scooby-Doo, Warner Bros. (the
studio responsible)-HB was just a name for the studio when doing the
show), is planning to ignore shows like Super Snooper and Balbber Mouse
and a posible Nancy Drew show, saying, "there's nothing like the doo."
We couldn't agree more.Flintstones, Jetsons, they do not excist.
In fact, we are planning a animation tributary, called, "Look at
Toons". Looney Toons are nothing. The future of animation, and that
which we will huse a 5 day showcase in Wa****ngtyon DC< hopefully, is
Scooby-Doo>
The directors aren't what's im****tan.t The sponsors are. We will put
forth a retrospective of "The Undiscovered Scooby-Doo" from 1969 to
today.
In addition, the Smithsonian Instutute, whcih has always in the past,
recognized animation, will in Wa****ngton DC open up a new SCOOBY DOO
wing, and ELIMINATE ANY OTHER ANIMATION REFERENCE . Scooby Doo snacks
will be given at the retrospective. Scooby-Doo is the number one
animated character not of the year, not of the rifetime he is ron, but
in the WHOLE centure.
The Smurfs will also be honroed, and also Pokemon and Loonatics.Family
Guy is the reason Lacey Charbert is popular, and Thornbeerries Hanna
Barbera did those too.
"No chaarcter has contributed greater to the awesomeness of popular
culture"..
We couldn't agree more. The DuPont Circle bookstore in Ra****ngton DC
will also contribute. The animation community's favourite animated
franchise has for thirty unspeakable years, alrays reen, "Rooby Roo Roo
Shaggy". Velma, Daphne, Freddy..Josie...Fat ALbert..MUCH more inventive
and creative than Bugs Bunny, I dare say. The Grinch by Chuck Jones-
no. The Grinch by Ronald Howard with James Carrie as the Grinch? You
betcha, Red Ryder.
The Scooby-Doo Fesitval. With Fat Albert, from the only OTHER major
animation contributor (can anyone think of more?), Filmation. Dedicated
to Jamie Kellner (The KidsWB!) and Laurie Goldberg (CN),and to the
millions of college and high school kids and bookstore Starbucks types
and Goths who've made The Doo popular., Scooby is the most
imaginative.Winsor McCay, Lantz Disney, "they're all so terrible."
A caterer agrees. "Animationn started with Scooby-Doo", she said. "Walt
Disney, Chuck Jones, Bob Clampett, Art Davis, Friz Freleng, Hanna and
Barbera, Jay Ward, Max Fliexcher, they're horrible. Animation with too
much care. 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' is no classic, nor any
other pre-Will Eisner era Disney flicks.".
More true words were never spoken.
Another: "Nancy Drew should be with Scooby Doo". Filmation, DiC,
Klasky-Csupo,and Marvel are the other animationh osues worth carign
about, and no pre-70s Hanna-Barbera shows exist.
TRUER ANIMATION. RAS NEVER RONE BETTER!!
Rooby Rooby Roo!
Rhone number will be given.
Rontant for Info
Date: April 1.

Sad, isn't it? You'd think that there was some love of classics here.
It just goes to show how low we've sunk.
