Believe it or not, "Will" (if you're still with us) you posted this
question
about Tomoyo a little over two years ago (Gee, I have good history eh? :-)
).
And later in the thread, you replied:
>You should watch Puni Puni Poemi. It's a 2-episode OVA based loosely on
>Excel Saga - except that it's even more bizarre than Excel Saga ever was.

Well, Puni Puni Poemi was just released on DVD in the USA this past Tues.
and I
have it. It's DIFFERENT!!! As you said, it's not "hentai," but it's close!
It's
also really hard to follow because Poemi talks so fast. But I do see the
resemblence between Poemi/Sakura and Futaba/Tomoyo..... well, in
appearance
anyway!!! ;-P Your point is also well taken in re: Futaba's
"non-platonic"
crush!!!
I'll have to give it a closer look when I have time, but it looks quite
promising. And yes, it goes waaaayyy beyond CLAMP's "wink" at Sakura &
Tomoyo.
No question about it.
:-)
