OVA3 Episode 6 Question

Ok, here's what I don't get:

Was Z controlling Masaki?  She knocked Tokimi back which indirectly was
helping Z kill Tenchi, as Tokimi couldn't get Tenchi out of the way.

What about that opening scene in the first episode, where Z blows up
the fleet?  Masaki was shown to be present there.  Did Z kidnap her?
Was she conspiring with Z or was she not conscous, seeing as she gets
no dialogue in her brief appearence?  I figure she was under her own
control by the end of the episode, at least.

Is this going to be explained in the special, or are we supposed to
have figured it out by now?
