Probably not.

"Ki", by the standard definitions, is life energy - the energy of the
spirit.
The "chakra" of Naruto, on the other hand, is defined fairly early on as
being the 'smoke' which results when you mix that spiritual energy with
physical energy and burn the mixture.

If he had first learned how to produce and mold chakra, I don't see why
not. That is, however, a fairly big "if".

Depends on exactly how it works. If it can see and interpret the
components of chakra, rather than just chakra itself, then probably yes
(with the caveats David Johnston mentioned). That is, however, another
reasonably big "if".
