Or maybe Meimi *did* shut it off--not so that she wouldn't set it off,
but so that *Yuki* wouldn't. I think Meimi already knew. She seems
awfully calm about it. Some of her lines in the hospital with Yuki
and that kid seem to hint she knew then.
