New codecs for anime fansubs?

Recently I downloaded an anime episode (Soul Eater 4) and the audio
and video became sync the longer I played the video. I didn't have any
problems playing new fansubs until the past week or so. Did new codecs
(or new versions of previous codecs) come out recently that are being
used in anime fansubs? I haven't updated mine in about six months. If
so what do I need to update?

The file could be corrupt I guess, but I've the same problem with
episode 5 as well.

Note: I KNOW it's not my comp, I've got a 8800 Nvidia video card with
2 gigs of memory.

Any help is grealty apprettiated. I did some searching on the net and
couldn't find anything.
