2007 Best Animated Feature Oscar

This year, 12 movies apparently were submitted for consideration for the
2007 Best Animated Feature academy award and approved by the Academy, for
a
total of three nominees this year.

The movies are:

    "Alvin and the Chipmunks"
    "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters"
    "Bee Movie"
    "Beowulf"
    "Meet the Robinsons"
    "Persepolis"
    "Ratatouille"
    "Shrek the Third"
    "The Simpsons Movie"
    "Surf¢s Up"
    "Tekkonkinkreet"
    "TMNT"

     The anime "Tekkonkinkreet" was released in U.S. theaters for one week

only a few months back.
     Notably absent from the list are "Happily N'Ever After", the fairy
tale
parody that gave this year in animation such a great start, and "The Ten 
Commandments", the recent CGI redo of the Biblical story.  Of course,
neither
film were likely to get a nomination anyway...Also notably absent is
Disney's
upcoming cartoon parody "Enchanted".  I guess that movie had too little 
animation.
     Notably PRESENT (yuck) are "Alvin and the Chipmunks" and "Beowulf". 
I
guess the ugly CGI chipmunks will have enough airtime for the movie to
qualify.
And "Beowulf", boy is that going to be controversial.
