In the next few days the first episodes of the new anime season will be
hitting the screens in Japan, and shortly thereafter hitting BitTorrent
servers all over the planet. What am I particularly looking forward to?
"Gunslinger Girl- Il Teatrino"
This is the second Gunslinger Girl series, a sequel to the disturbingly
popular first series about mind controlled loli ninja assassins and
teddy bears (which aren't ninja assassins, but I'm not sure about the
mind-control thing). From what the preview and the assorted conceptual
artwork about the show on the Web indicates, this will (SPOILER --

"Aria the Origination"
Another sequel to the popular "Aria" manga and the two previous anime
series, this appears to be the final story as an announcement has been
made that the manga will finish in a couple of chapters from now, at no.
60. It was initially thought by fans that the title meant this would be
a retrospective series, perhaps showing Grandma and Alicia at Aria
Company before Akari arrived on Aqua to become Alicia's trainee. The
conceptual art and the preview reveals this series in fact carries the
storyline on from the last "winter" OAV wherein Athena-sempai promised
to take Alice-chan on a picnic in the spring, causing Akira and Akari to
smile in a knowing manner.
The rest of what's listed on the various fora as forthcoming this month
does not excite me much. Looking a bit further ahead to April, "Kamen no
Maid Guy" is weird enough that I might get a liking to it, assuming the
animation is better than the small amount of the manga I've caught sight
of in the past. The preview indicates it's going to go heavy on the
fanservice though, possibly even surpassing Gainax...
Anybody else got any recommendations for this month's serving of
BitTorrented anime?
