At least one of the big Mitsubi**** recorders did.  I remember when I went
to 
buy a new recorder, I took an anime tape with me. That resulted in the 
purchase of my recently departed Mitsubi**** machine. Nice machine, but the

tape carrier mechanism was very prone to wearing out.
