Paprika was like The Matrix on acid and pretty impressive visually, but in
the end it left me cold since I didn't feel for any of the characters. I
like it better when you find yourself emotionally involved with the story
and people in it, a good example from the same year as Paprika being The
Girl Who Leapt Through Time which may not have the same wow factor (though
beautiful backdrops) but at least it made me care about the fate of the
characters.
