I believe this is technically known as "Retrospective Target Designation"
or
RTD.
Put simply, once a weapons system is fired the RTD identifies whatever was
hit
and retrospectively designates that as the target, thus ensuring that test
data
always shows that the weapons system has a 100% accuracy record.
